About Jodie

I am a dedicated law tutor who is available to teach and assist flexibly around your schedule. I am passionately committed to my business as a teacher, and to helping my students get the best possible results. I will be as invested in your development as you are!

Prior to establishing my own business as a private tutor in 2017, I spent 3 years teaching at school and university level in the UK, China, Thailand and Spain. I have taught many students and led significant improvements in knowledge and grades. I love to teach because I have a passion for learning and study. I enjoy helping others reach their potential and inspiring their interest. The law is a fascinating subject, but that can be obscured by the structure of teaching, the fast-pace of law school, and the lack of teaching of core skills which law students need to succeed. The pressure to achieve can be overwhelming and I want to help students do the best they can by providing knowledge, skills and support.

About the lesson

I am available to teach Law to students at undergraduate or postgraduate university level, diploma, GDL, and secondary school (GCSE/A-level).

I teach all the core LL.B subjects, and other topics:

- International law
- Public international law
- Public law
- Criminal Law
- Land Law
- Equity & Trusts
- Contract Law
- EU Law
- EU Criminal Law
- Critical legal theory, jurisprudence and the philosophy of law
- Dissertations and research projects

I also teach politics and international relations subjects such as:
- Political Thought & Philosophy
- The Politics and Law of China
- Terrorism, National and International Security

I am passionate about the law and love to teach it. If you do not see your subject listed, or need guidance on a particular research project or dissertation, please get in touch anyway. I am always delighted to work with students on independent projects in niche areas provided I have the knowledge and expertise to do so.

If you and your friends would like to improve your knowledge and grades, you could share a weekly or fortnightly lesson to run alongside your university seminars and lectures.

Following my masters thesis I have a particular expertise and interest in the international use of capital punishment, extradition and the US death penalty.

I have worked as a tutor and teacher in several countries. My students get strong results as I tailor bespoke lessons to each individual. I believe in a hands-on approach to develop student understanding of the subject matter and believe that learning should be enjoyable - and can be for everyone - once we have found the right strategies and techniques that work for us.

I deliver classes in a variety of styles including seminar-style classes, problem question and essay classes for essential exam preparation and lecture-style classes where I deliver substantive content alongside a PPT that student will receive after the class. I also provide other teaching materials such as key case summaries and essential points crib sheets, alongside practice problem questions and essays and mini-tests to ensure exam success.

I can review university assignments to assist student in improving their work, and work on revision plans for exams.

I enjoy teaching and I have a passion for my subject. I think a good tutor should break down the course content to make things easier for their students, enabling them to achieve greater outcomes.

I have experience of special educational needs and specific learning difficulties, so can help students learns to work around difficulties and play to individual strengths and learning styles.
