About Derek
I worked in industry in sales and marketing depts of three companies, Leo laboratories{ pharmaceutical company}, Barr & Stroud Ltd { electro-optical engineering} and British telecomm. { analogue and digital communication systems }
I left industry in 1990, after 10 years to pursue a career in education , primarily as a physics teacher but also worked in guidance and vocational development both in schools and Scottish enterprise.

I am a well organised , well prepared and though teacher . I my lessons to be well structured both in terms of theory and practical examples of applied theory but also allowing plenty of opportunities for students to discuss and question my worked examples, experimental and theoretical practice and provide immediate feedback on students work.
