About Adam
I'm Adam.
I have a PhD in History from the University of Warwick, as well as a first-class Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree from the University of Liverpool. I started my teaching career as a University Lecturer, before deciding to become a secondary school teacher and getting my QTS.
Academic success was always a bit of a mystery to me at school, and my results were not as good as they could have been. It was only when I went to University that everything clicked for me. I discovered the secret to academic success.
From there, I went on to enjoy a very successful and happy academic career. But now, I want to help other young people discover their passion for their subjects and to succeed in their academic pursuits.

Having taught at both university and secondary level, I understand the gap between "knowing the content" and being able to translate that knowledge into high-scoring exam answers.
I focus on closing that gap.
My sessions last one hour. Each session will consist of:
- Retrieval practice (designed to consolidate subject knowledge).
- Exam skills.
- Live, detailed feedback on written work.
I tutor students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level, including:
- GCSE and A-Level History students preparing for exams
Students wanting to strengthen essay-writing and source-analysis skills
- Students seeking extension or Oxbridge-level preparation
- Students who need to rebuild confidence or fill gaps in core historical knowledge.
