About Divij
I offer a professional, structured, and highly encouraging approach to tutoring. My background blends high-level STEM expertise with a genuine passion for helping young learners overcome academic challenges and realise their full potential.
I am currently pursuing an MEng in Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Bath, building directly on top-tier A-Level results in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science.
I delivered 8 months of professional tutoring experience with First Class Learning, designing and implementing customised learning plans for primary and secondary students from Year 3 to GCSE level.
I also served as Vice Captain and Head of Student Mentoring at Wallington County Grammar School, directly training, organising, and leading peer mentorship programmes aimed at boosting student performance and examination confidence.

My tutoring approach centres on building deep conceptual understanding, technical confidence, and independent problem-solving skills tailored to each individual student. Rather than relying on rote memorisation, I focus on breaking down complex mathematical, scientific, and logical concepts into clear, digestible steps. I found that this is the most effective way to help my students.
Lesson Structure & Length:
Standard sessions run for 60 minutes (with 90-minute or 2-hour sessions available for intensive GCSE revision and exam preparation). Each class would begin with a quick review of previous concepts, followed by targeted topic teaching, interactive practice, and a recap of key takeaways.

Divij taught me further mathematics in year 13. In year 13 January mocks, I got an E1 (High Level A). However, in the real thing, I missed the A* by a few marks. I am getting my score remarked so I can hopefully get my A*. My school teachers were nowhere near as good at teaching as Divij was. He takes his time with me. I have special needs but he was patient with me.
