About Mic

My highschool had very good basketball reputation and I couldn't be more excited to play entering the 9th grade. Turns out I didnt make the cut.. I came back in 10th grade after working on my game all summer, got overlooked again and didn't make the cut. I was about 5'2 and that probably had something to do with it, but I didn't give up. I came back the following year and finally made the team.

There's a certain point where you can flip a switch and decide that there's no way i'm not making it this year. All it takes is determintion, and work.

I've always wanted to be able to give back and be the mentor that I didn't have when I was a younger. I think parent's belief in their child is vital, obviously. But I remember as much as I knew my parents loved me and believed in me, as a kid, I believed that they were obligated to do that because they were my parents. In some areas I thought they truly didn't believe in me.. Which was wrong! But I've heard someone call that type of mindset, imposter syndrome. Where despite evident potential, or evident success even, one can feel self doubt, and inadequacy. I want to squash that lie in young lives before it follows them to adult hood. I want to be able to change some lives, and be able to ensure that they will make there basketball teams, and achieve other goals that they have in mind.

First of all, I love Basketball. I still play a few times a week!

I love seeing younger players play with confidence, and began to feel comfortable during a game as if it's an open court with no defense.

I know basketball.

I know what would have propelled me when I was younger.

I know how important positivity is.

Hire someone you get along with. If you don't like the way your trianer trains.. Go get a new one! It's supposed to be fun! Yea, it's hard work, but it's also a game!

I would recomend interviewing 3 or more trainers.
