Top 3 things that makes a coach keep you on the floor:

1. DEFENSE- not only how well you can play on-ball defense but also your positioning and communication in off-ball defense

2. DECISION MAKING- Offensively: knowing the difference between a good and great shot, and keeping your turnovers low Defensively: knowing when to be aggressive and go for steals, or be solid and stay in front

3. DUBS- Do you affect winning? Can you be trusted in crunch time of a game? If your shot isn’t falling do you still have an impact on the game? If you can rebound(offense+defense), hit easy/open shots, move well off the ball offensively, set great screens and have smart hustle. Coaches can’t take you off the floor!

I’m Andre Wesson, having played for many coaches at different levels and multiple countries many things have been different, but the things that have always been consistent is the 3 things listed above. I’ve played for Top 25 teams in the nation in both high school (Westerville South) and college (Ohio State), I know how to win and what it looks like. In both high school and college defense and decision making got me on the floor early in my career. Even more so at Ohio State, the main reason I was able to be top 3 in minutes played my junior and senior year were: (1) Defense- my ability to guard positions 1-5 (2) Decision making- top 3 efficiency rating at my position in my conference (Big 10). Our second trainer Zion Parham has had success too. Having played varsity as a freshman in high school and playing in a state final four he knows what it takes to win, and how to have immediate impact on the game regardless of circumstances.

At Hungry training we put on emphasis on teaching you how to impact the game at the highest level. Everybody wants to score 20 points a game and be the star of the team and this is great, but in reality everybody can’t be the star of the team. What we do is teach you the game offensively and defensively. Teach you different concepts, drills and skills that translate well into a game. Our goal is to not only give you great individual skills, but also able to give you skills and concepts that separate you from the rest.

We offer two different types of training with group and individual workouts. With group training we have beginner and advanced classes. Beginner class is recommended for players who have limited experience and/or are trying to get a better overall understanding of the game. Advanced class is for players with a little more experience that are wanting to take their game to the next level, and learn the nuances of the game. These classes are held in the afternoons. Beginners 5:45pm-6:30pm and Advanced 6:30pm-7:15pm

The most recommended? Definitely our individual training! With 2-3 trainers available for our individual trainings you get a legit personalized experience. We start by putting you through a series of drills to find your strengths and weaknesses. Also we put the player through some drills that will help us keep track of the players development so you see real time results. Sessions usually last 45 min-1 hr.

Wanted to help give kids from my area the opportunity that I had to be able to go to school for free and keep them out of trouble, while also teaching self-confidence and hard work.

I have trained many middle/high school players as well as college and professionals over the past 3 summers. While doing so I also have played professionally overseas for the past two years in Finland, Cyprus and Sweden. Before this I played 4 years at Ohio State University where we went to two NCAA tournaments and were top 25 in the nation for most of my 4 years. In high school I played at Westerville South, where I went to back to back state championship games and won one my senior year on top of numerous individual awards.

About the lesson

We first figure out the students skill level and see what they are trying to achieve with the game. Whether that is to just stay active, go professional or just want a college scholarship. We then tailor make a plan for the student.(Individual training only)
