About Linda
I am a professional chemist holding a Masters Degree in Organic Chemistry from Purdue University. My career has spanned over 18 years across several ground breaking companies such as MDS, Ilypsa and Roche Pharmaceuticals. While I have retired from the profession, I still have a love of the subject. My interest has now shifted to teaching, tutoring and generally helping chemistry students gain a firm grasp of the subject.
My goal is to instill an understanding and deeper interest in the student. Understanding and interest are key to a student’s perseverance and success in any subject. As such I will strive to turn the willing student into a success.
I am available by appointment on weekdays 7pm to 10pm and weekends.
My rate is $60/hour or 5 hours for $250 if paid in advance.
Additional travel fee if I come to you based on distance.
My parents were teachers and instilled in me a high standard of preparation and details, resulting in student comprehension. They took "job" of teaching as a mission for student success.
I have never wanted to teach a class, but I have a high affinity for the individual who desires to learn. I struggled with learning Chemistry myself so I understand difficulties and can explain the subject in many ways to make sure that it can be understood.
I have a Master's of Science Degree focused in Organic Chemistry from Purdue University. I have 18 years working in the pharmaceutical industry as a Research Chemist. I have tutored Chemistry off and on since 1991, primarily High School level, but have work with the occasional College student.

We make an appointment by phone or in person during which there will be some tutoring. I find out what the student is struggling with in Chemistry. I use the students materials plus as needed my own references to guide the student to comprehension. I have through the years I have learned how to make this experience fun and relavent to the student's life.

Details
The base rate is $60/hour in Irving. A 5 hour block paid in advance gets a discount and goes for $250 = $50/hour.
If the student desires me to travel to their location, the minimum will be $100/hour.
