About Megan
I recently graduated from Capital University with a degree in chemistry and biochemistry. At Capital I was a workshop leader, teaching assistant, and tutor for various chemistry classes. Being a workshop leader, I met with small groups of students each week to review class material and answer their questions, and as nerdy as it sounds, I had a lot of fun doing it. This fall I will begin working toward a PhD in organic chemistry. I have really come to love getting to know students and helping them learn!
I love chemistry. I also enjoy teaching! So tutoring in chemistry is just the most fun someone like me can have. My students have told me that my enthusiasm for the subject has resulted in them enjoying their chemistry classes more! I love seeing someone who simply doesn't get it transform into a whiz.
I began tutoring kids in high school and taught piano lessons. When I was in college I was hired to be a workshop leader (similar to a recitation instructor). I liked it so much I applied to be a teaching assistant and a tutor.
I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry and biochemistry from Capital University. I have worked for three years as a workshop leader, laboratory teaching assistant, and tutor for various chemistry classes.

I like to start by getting to know the student - their likes and hobbies outside of school. This way I can relate to them on something that they actually enjoy! When it's time to get down to business, I ask the student where they are in class and what has them confused.
I have worked with kids from five years old to adult learners at the collegiate level.
Find someone who is passionate about what they do. Enthusiasm is contagious, and it will make your learning experience eaiser and more fun!
