About Michael
I'm fresh out of school with a chemistry degree and am very knowledgable in the sciences. I am a Merced native in the hiring process to become a high school teacher in the fall.
In my freshman year of college after my first semester of straight A's, I was referred to the tutoring department and became a tutor as well as a supplemental instruction leader. I loved my job from the beginning.
I was a tutor for math, chemistry, and physics in college and have passed my examinations to become a high school chemistry teacher.

The most important task when working with a new student is to be sure you know where their level of understanding is so that you know where to start.
I've had the pleasure of working with the diverse community of Merced from private to public tutoring. I've also had the pleasure of working with students with both mental and physical disabilities. I will accomodate all students regardless of their starting point.
As vast and complex as some subject matter can be, it is very important that a student can identify what step of a given problem confused them. This is the most important part of learning the sciences.
I recently hiked Vernal falls with a previous tutee of mine from college. I was lucky enough to make great friend in my time there.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What problem is confusing me? What about that particular problem is puzzling? Once I have these vital pieces of information I can very often relate difficult problems to every day objects and activities. My personal favorite is that the nucleus of an atom is akin to the size of a needle point in a football field.
