About Tersh
People love it when I draw caricatures of them. I enjoy sharing the techniques and methods that make this possible. Learning how to cartoon can be a fun and rewarding hobby. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist looking to improve your skills, there are a few key techniques that can help you create dynamic and expressive cartoon characters. One important technique is using line weight to create contrast and give your characters more dimension. Another is using gesture to convey emotion and movement. You can also experiment with facial expressions, posture, and clothing choices to give your characters personality. With practice, you'll be able to bring your cartoon creations to life on the page!
I drew over 1200 people at fairs in 2022. People love the drawings. I make the drawings fun, or funny, and happy or upbeat, and keep them looking very much like the people I'm drawing. I'm probably the best caricaturist in the Rochester area. So often people exclaim "oh my god, I love that!". That is nice feedback for an artist to get after just 5 to ten minutes! I give them a new image of themselves that they really love! Sharing all this with students is wonderful
Bachelor of Art degree, fine art painting , from Thomas Edison University. Oil painting, acrylic painting, then I was trained to draw caricatures at Darien Lake amusement park with markers and art stix! Amazing technique!. I've learned a lot from drawing over 2000 people so far!

Right now, my fee for a lesson is $20, plus any materials , if needed. A Micron pen is only about $3, and a sheet of my 11x14 cover stock , thick paper is only 20 cents!
