About Barry R

My "learned" advice for classes, is to TALK TO THE EDUCATOR - tell HIM OR HER what you are looking for. IE: I just want someone to see my work and evaluate it so I have a better understanding of my talent 2. I NEED TO ESTABLISH A DIRECTION THAT BEST FITS MY INTEREST AND ABILITIES...3. I am not sure if I want a career, but I just like to create...4. I paint and draw a lot, but am not sure how it all fits together as a talent...am I marketable?...how? 5. I want someone to criticize my work...on perspective, composition, olor or style. 5. I am an artist and want to be stronger in my direction.

These are just some examples of why people seek help from a professional. Among them are...I just like to pass time painting and need some feedback because people keep complimenting me on my work.

...I am a retired independent, Multi Disciplinary Artist Educator / Consultant. 18 of my 48 years was with N.Y.S. through C.A.S.D.A. a private Scool District Education organization for Educational Advocacy... as a School District Special Educator and Teacher Education consultant.

I began Art School at the age of 8 at the Sach's Art School in the Bronx, N.Y.C. as a third grader in the program geared for 5th grade and above. Later Graduated from the HS of Art And Design, NYC and have a BFA in Fine Arts ( Painting ) from Syracuse University.

...have won Art Awards throughout my 48 year Multidisciplinary Career Including a NYS Council on the Arts Fellowship (1985) for Sculpture and the Iris Perez Celis Award for Painting (2006) From Syracuse University...Senior Award for Painting 2007.

...as an experienced educator, dedicated to the Whole profession and passtime of creating Art, I help to illustrate and define the possibilities that many creative people are moved to explore. Art the profession...Art the Treasure, Art the interest or Art the product...just 4 aspects of creating that can be part of a whole practice...or specific individual explorations based on your interest level or passion to create and show your work.
