My son (6 at the time) started taking lessons with Miles just before the major lockdowns for COVID were put into effect. He was really enjoying the lessons and I was seeing massive improvements with him on a regular basis so I was crushed when everything came to a halt. Soon thereafter, Miles worked out an online plan for students to continue lessons remotely which really gave my son something to look forward to during those times. He absolutely loves learning, playing, and practicing which I think is a real testament toward Miles' character and teaching style to really engage with someone that age. My son (who was never overly into music in general) will now hear songs on the radio and say 'this is what me and Miles are working on' or 'I want Miles to teach me this one next', which, as a parent of a kid who is very introverted, is worth a million bucks. We're both very lucky to have found Miles and look forward to many more years/lessons together.

Throughout my 4 lessons Mr. Miles was someone who was nice on point and overall a cool guy. We practiced and talked like we had been friends.

My son (who is in the 2nd grade) has been taking drum lessons from Miles for 7 months now. I am more than satisfied with how the lessons are being taught. I was impressed at how math was incorporated into the learning process in the beginning. It allowed Miles to assess my son's level of comprehension as it related to understanding time, rhythm and more importantly, gauging his ability to learn how to read music so that a lesson plan could be tailored for him. I appreciate Miles patience and how reaffirming he is when my son has difficulty understanding part of the lesson. It's great to see how he comes up with various ways to teach and recap previous lessons. In addition to being a great teacher, it's cool to see how he allows my son to choose a song to play along with as well as use the last 5 minutes of class to have a jam session. Overall, we are very satisfied with Miles as a teacher and look forward to continued lessons. I'm impressed with my son's ability to read music and personally cannot wait to see how much he's progressed a year from now!!

Miles is my favorite percussion teacher. He is really good at explaining things during my lessons. Also I have lots of fun with him. Three years ago I was looking for a percussion teacher and I could find one that was good for me, but then I found miles and I have had him since. His positive attitude toward me keeps me motivated to practice and one day be as good as him.
