About Kristen

I provide excellent services catering to every type of student. I work hard to customize lessons to every type of learner, and I do not ever give up on a student. I have been a certified teacher in the best rated state in Education in the USA. I have been working for 8 years, and am currently pursuing a graduate degree in English. I have been rated highly effective, and have an Advance Professional Teaching Certificate in Maryland. I primarily work with high school aged students, but I also lecture adults in conjuction with Johns Hopkins University and Teach for America. I hope to help you achieve your dreams!

I got started teaching because I saw a need that was going unaddressed, and my passion for reading and writing took me there. I love helping people reach their potential through academics.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and Secondary Education

I have 30 graduate Credits in English Literature

I have an Advanced Professional Certificate in the State of Maryland

I have been a certified high school educator for 8 years in Baltimore, Maryland.

About the lesson

I have a phone consultation with a potential client, and provide a 30 minute session for free in order to determine the level and type of need.

I also customize my packages based on the assignment.

I have worked with every type of student you can imagine, with the exception of substantial cognitive disabilities. I have worked with students with several different types of learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and socioeconomic statuses. I believe everyone has the ability to improve, no matter what.

Recently, I had a student that was struggling to write an essay. She was complaining and whining about not wanting to do it, and that it was too hard, and that she couldn't complete it on time. We sat together after school and walked through every step of writing it, and she was able to compose a pretty decent essay. After editing and revisions, she came up to me and thanked me for making her do it. She felt good about finishing, and it made me happy to help her.
