About Stephfanie
I am a former teacher for Harford County Public Schools. I am certified in elementary education (k-6), creative writing, and always finding opportunities to learn more and expand my craft. I enjoy opportunities to work with students one on one and firmly believe in guiding the students to success. It is my belief that it is far more essential to teach skills that will enable the students rather than give them the answers. I believe in constructive feedback over criticism and approach all of my students with a passion for teaching and learning, a positive attitude, and a calm demeanor.
I love working with children and coming to that 'aha' moment where the material clicks for them!
I've always wanted to be a teacher. I love children and that 'aha' moment of discovery. I strive to make learning fun and engaging.
I only left teaching due to the struggles due to the pandemic and also beginning a family of my own and wanting to be home for them!
I have my Bachelor's degree in elementary education, my Maryland educator certification, and I have 7 years of classroom experience between second and third grade.

We will begin by working together and getting to know the child as a student, then we work to identify the area of need and go from there!
I have worked with second and third graders regularly, but all elementary aged students in some capacity. I have worked with a wide range of students and taught everyone from the special education class to the gifted and talented class.
I would encourage the student to find a teacher who understands them and their needs and treats them as an individual and not just as 'one of the bunch'.
