About Marisa
Marisa is an Actor/Comedian/Writer living in Brooklyn. She loves to spend her free time moving, stretching, running, as well as playing games with friends! Her tutoring philosophy centers around the idea of finding the joy in something that is not necessarily fun. She graduated from UPenn with honors and a double major in Theatre Arts and Communications as well as a minor in Psychology. She has been tutoring and working with kids since she was in high school and feels comfortable working with children of all ages newborn-18 yo. Marisa feels best when she can empower students to take control of their own education and become active learners. She is patient and willing to find the best pace for each student. I like to have a conversation with the student about their academic goals as well as their perceived strengths and weaknesses. It is helpful for me to learn how the student learns (visually, auditorily, kinesthetically) so I can taylor my studying techniques to their strengths.
