About Dana
Hello! My name is Dana Murdock, and I am a tutor. I specialize in tutoring elementary and middle school students in English, reading, writing, grammar, and beginning math concepts. Tutoring is the perfect job for me because I love working with children and helping them learn and grow. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a specialty area in middle school language arts from the University of Minnesota.
I like to get to know my students’ interests and what they like to do. I use this information to design lessons that will keep their attention and be enjoyable. It is important to me that my tutoring lessons are fun and interesting to each individual student. Young learners are able to do their best when they are able to focus and remain engaged in the learning material.
I originally began tutoring at Sylvan Learning Center in Wales, Wisconsin. I am currently tutoring students online due to the current pandemic. I am looking forward to working with more students through turors.com.

I like to get to know my students so I can create lessons that they will be able to focus on and enjoy. I ask new students questions about their interests and hobbies.
It is important to me that my students are comfortable with me being their tutor. I allow them to ask me questions so they can get to know me.
Before working with a new student, I like to know his/her tutoring needs. I research and prepare for our first lesson so that we can be productive and enhance the learning that takes place.
