About Jeb
My teaching approach can vary depending on the desired output and the individual, rather than "one size fits all" style. For fiction and creative writing, I encourage a cinematic approach - show don't tell, as they say. Non-fiction is enhanced in a similar way. But first and foremost is helping the student find their unique voice. When that happens it's "Oh, what a thrill!" (Chuck Berry)
After I completed my MFA in 2015, my intent was to teach, in addition to writing and publishing fiction. Then I was offered a plum consulting position, followed by a pandemic, and teaching was sidelined.
I've been a copy/creative for over 35 years in various agency and client-side roles, both as a business owner, manager, and individual contributor.
Later in my career I started writing fiction (prior to self-publishing), got an agent and ultimately published "Hack." My next novel, "The Healing of Howard Brown," won the Independent Press Awardand Firebird award for literary fiction. I have since published another novel, "American Corporate," and a collection of short stories, "For Want of Grace."
