About Katie
Teaching is a passion of mine and my goal is to make sure my students learn how to learn rather than simply memorizing and moving on. This means adapting to your child's needs to better suit concepts for their learning style. I am happy to cover any subject and I have experience working with students with varying intellectual and behavioral needs as well.
Ultimately, I want to see my students become advocates for themselves and seek help where they need it. I love seeing my students take steps towards independence and watching them grow to love learning.
I am an education and special education double major at Saint Joseph's University where I have had the opportunity to teach and observe in more than 15 classrooms to date. Also, I was a pandemic pod instructor for students of different ability levels during the fall of 2020, and have tutored students ages 9-18 virtually for the past year.

I've found that students of all ages learn best if there is a foundation of mutual respect, so I always try to get to know my client as a person before getting into academics. All people learn differently, so I make sure to first get an understanding of the student’s learning style. From there, my students are prepared and eager to begin learning.
