About Judy
I'm currently a college student majoring in Communications with a minor in Psychology. I have always loved and done well in English courses.
My experience with tutoring includes tutoring Math and English Kumon and tutoring other college students at University in writing. I have been tutoring for a total of 4 years now.
I am patient and kind, and would love to help your child succeed in English and Math!

First session: I woud love to get to know my new student first and I would want them to get to know me. We would go through brief intros and then talk about what the student needs tutoring in. What are their academic goals and how can we best achieve them? What have you tried that did not work before? Let's create a timeline of the goals we can achieve together! Then we walk through some problems together.
Next couple of sessions after that are circumstantial and based on the student. Every session is goal oriented with the understanding that goals can change depending on the student's progress. I like to encourage students of the greater picture as we are working together.
ESL students, students grades ranging from pre-school to University.
Know what kind of learner you are so that I have a better idea of how to teach you. For example, are you a visual learner? Knowing this will be helpful in the types of problems and methods of teaching I use.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. What are the steps I need to take in order to figure out this problem?
2. What was my thought process while working through this? Be able to explain this to the teacher so it shows the teacher that you placed effort in trying to understand and it also gives the teacher a more specific idea of where to go from there.
