About Jinx

I am currently attending NYU Gallatin focusing on advocasy and acess within the performing arts, as well as a minor in theatre education. I have prior knowledge on teaching, creating lesson plans, and find creative solutions to help others learn. In my first year of college I finished with a 3.9 GPA and took 2 courses focused on education. I graduated from Pottsgrove High School in 2020, finishing 10th in my class with a 4.4 weighted GPA. Also in high shool I worked as a teacher's assistant for 3 years, meaning that have experience grading and editing. I took both AP Literature and AP Language in highschool getting a 5 in both exams so I am especially prepared to help high schoolers prepare for those exams as well as AP Psychology.

Outside of education I have done volunteer work at my local community theatre for the past 4 years. I also have a multitude of experience working with children ages 4-17, due to the work I've done in theatre education at community theatres and summer camps. In the past I have tutored for NHS when I was in highschool as well as running study groups my freshman year of college.

I truly have a passion fo educating others, especially when it comes to English. I fell in love with literature and education, deciding to pursue a career at NYU doing what I love and am hoping to continue some of that work over the summer. I love finding new ways to explain things, and I often learn just as much from my students as they do from me.

I am currently an education major, and as stated in my bio, have been in numerous student teaching positions in high school.

About the lesson

My typical process is to set up a first interview session for about 20 minutes just to make sure that we are a good fit for each other, this is completely optional and free of charge. Then I work by creating personalized lesson plans on the topics your student needs help with including interactive activities and games to keep them engaged with the learning process.

I have worked with students from first grade to twelth, including special needs students and with certain learning disabilities.
