About Will
Hi there! My name is Will Gropper and I would love to tutor your son/daughter. I tutored at-risk middle schoolers as part of the WINS program in Port Washington, NY. Later on, I tutored privately with students from grades 6-11. All this adds up to 4+ years of tutoring experience. I have experience working with students with severe anxiety, depression, OCD, and non-verbal learning disorders. Looking foward to hearing from you!
I got my start tutoring at the WINS program in Port Washington, NY. I was selected to be a tutor for middle schoolers who were falling behind on their work. In this program, I learned how to motivate students who think education is boring and a drag.
I tutored at-risk middle schoolers and did private tutoring both in person and online for several years.

My typical first lesson is more relaxed, as working with a new tutor is very stressful! It involves a comprehesive review of the students strenghts and weaknesses, getting to know them through hobbies they enjoy and topics they like to discuss. We go over their grades up to that point, and based on their answers I formulate a plan of attack for raising grades.
I have worked with students with severe anxiety, depression, OCD, and non verbal learning disorders.
I would say to look for a tutor who prioritizes fun as much as learning! This makes tutoring a breeze!
A recent event I am fond of was when I was tutoring a student privatley with major struggles. After he got an A in English, he was so happy and it almost made me cry!

They should asses their strengths and weaknesses, and most of all be completley honest with the tutor. This allows them to help you as much as possible!
