About Kira
I am an educator with 6 years of experience living in Portland, Oregon.
I worked as a tutor for high school students during my undergraduate education at Penn State University, where I majored in Geography, and Political Science.
I moved to Portland, Oreogn to continue my studies in Geography at Portland State University and was hired as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate students in social and environmental science courses.
I graduated with my Master's of Science in Geography in 2018 and currently work as an environmental educator and outreach coordinator with the City of Portland.
I love watching people learn new skills and ideas! Also, one of my favorite things about being an educator is that I also get to continue learning through my students.

I start by asking what their goals are: Is there a big test coming up? Do they want to boost their grade for the term? are they hoping to reach an english proficiencly level for a specific event?
Then I asses where they are by either having a conversation with them or asking to see some of their past homework and exames.
From there we make a plan!
