About Kelsey
I'm a certified secondary teacher, endorsed in English, Language Arts, Social Studies, Health, and Fitness. My teaching experience is quite vast and unpredictable, mostly because I love to teach all students of different backgrounds, learning styles, and experiences. I've taught International Baccalaureate X students, Honors students, AVID students, Juvenile Detention students, adult Prison inmates, and students in rural Zambia.
I have a Masters in Teaching from the University of Washington, and graduated Cum Laude from UW with a double major in Law, Societies, and Justice, and Honors in American Ethnic Studies, with a minor in Human Rights. I love Humanities, but I also have a background in science, business, nutrition, sports, and music.
I took time off from teaching full time, to travel the world with my husband. While I love traveling, I can't get enough of impacting students' lives in a positive way. So when I'm not substitute teaching in various districts, I work as a remote private tutor for students of all ages. When I see a student learn something new, or have an "ah-ha" moment, I am reminded why teaching is the best profession ever!
