About Maddy
I am a Special Education Teacher at an Elementary School in Davis, CA. I have a huge passion for tailoring education to each individual person. Additionally, I am currently working towards my license as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I bring my awareness of mental health into my teaching, as I empower my students to unleash their potential. I have a huge passion for English/writing tutoring at the elementary, middle, high school and college level.
I started out as a teaching assistant and worked my way up to my role as a Special Education Teacher. My role in special ed makes me well equipt to tutor because I frequently teach kids in the one on one setting as well as through small groups.

I start by getting to know each student and their individual learning style. I believe it is important to build rapport and trust as well as to find areas of strength with each student.
I worked with a variety of children including those with developmental disorders, chronic illness, shortened life expectancy, autism, attachment disorders, homelessness, transgender identities, high trauma and a range of SES. I've worked with children from 2nd to 6th grade. At the private tutoring company Lindamood-Bell, I tutored students ranging in ages 4-21.
