About Rachel
I have enjoyed being an elementary school reading teacher for four years. I love teaching! It is exciting to make reading fun, while learning new skills. My certification is in early education through 6th grade. I recently left the public classroom to help with family, but greatly miss my students.
I worked at a daycare teaching preschool and after school care, while I worked to complete my teaching certification.
I have worked in education for 6 years and been a public elementary teacher for 4. I am certified to teach Early Education-6th grade in all content/subjects and English Second Language(ESL).

Relationships help learning. I love to build relationships with students and determine their strengths and weaknesses. Once we've done that, we build on the skills and backgroud knowledge they have.
I've worked with all types of students; below grade level, ESL, SPED, and 504.
Look for someone with qualificaitons. Our job is to help you succeed. You aren't expected to know everything, so ask all the questions you can think of.
Anytime a student gets to the other side of frustration it is a "butterflies and rainbows" moment for a teacher. You may not love reading, but it is nice when it no longer causes you pain and frustration.
