About Oneilia
Every child has the ability to learn, with the guidance of an exceptional mentor. I know this from my own experience with dedicated teachers, and I have committed myself to doing the same for the next generation.
I have 8 years of experience tutoring in caring educational settings, and a BA in English Language Arts and Literature, specializing in tutoring students at the elementary and middle school level. Wherever your students’ abilities lie, I will help them reach their goals.
I started teaching while I was in high school, offering tutoring and essay reviews during lunch time and after school.

When working with a new student, I ask them to think of any reason why they are having issues with their subject. Unnoticed problems could range from a lack of interest in the topic, to the enivornment in which they tackle the subject. To combat this, the student must acknowledge every mundane thing that may keep them from reaching their full potential, and changing it. Even an uncomfortable chair or drafty window will disrupt focus. Only then can we begin the technical work.
I've worked with students ranging from every skill level, from little ones just beginning to read, to high school students looking to improve the grammar in their essays.
