About Mark
I am a 10 year veteran English and Creative Writing teacher. I have experience teaching in grades 6-12, and currently teach 9th grade English and Introductory Creative Writing. My students have tested above average in Ohio State Standardized testing. I have experience in the research paper process and am fluent in APA and MLA styles. I can also assist in grammatical and sentence structure, as well as mechanical elements of writing.
After obtaining my degree, I was a substitute teacher for a couple of years, as well as an in-home tutor. I have been a full time teacher at my current school for the last 7 years.
B.S. in Education- AYA Language Arts (grades 7-12), Bowling Green State University, 2008.
I was also a in-home tutor with A to Z Tutoring from 2010-2015.

I would generally like to sit down with the student and his/her/their family and discuss the student’s needs and the scope of the tutoring. After identifying those areas, I would create individualized lessons that help the student gain the knowledge necessary to achieve the goals set in our initial meeting.
I have experience teaching every grade of my licensure (7-12), as well as students of every level of learning.
I am a coach for my school’s Power of the Pen team, and my team has made it to the state level of competition every year I have been involved. One of my writers placed 25th in the state level, in an initial field of several thousand writers.

Pricing is negotiable depending on the need and scope of tutoring, but generally is $30 an hour for homework help, and $40 an hour for lesson-planned tutoring.
