About Madi
I'm here to help students reach their goals. Whether it is a short term goal like scoring well on a test, or a longer term goal like choosing and preparing for a career, I can help with that. I've been tutoring and teaching for 10 years, and I also have career experience in academia and the tech industry. Whatever your goals are, I will use my expertise and come up with a plan to help you succeed and accomplish your goals.
I first started tutoring in high school. After school, I would tutor my younger sibling's friends and classmates. Sometimes I even tutored my friends, we would meet at the donut shop after school and they would buy me a donut in exchange for helping them with our assignments. In college, I continued to work as a tutor for high schoolers, and when I was a college senior, I became a TA for freshmen college classes. In grad school I became a lead instructor for college classes, and in my corporate data science jobs I trained new hires in how to use our software.
Bachelors degree and Masters degree in Computational Biology, 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience, 3 years work as a Data Scientist

We start with a free phone or email consulation, to make sure the student's needs are a good match for my tutoring expertise. Then in the first session, I will observe the student working on some tasks/problems, offer some quick solutions to start, and then make longer term plan for building up new skills and strategies for success in future sessions and beyond.

Details
Our first consultation discussion is always free! After that, my standard rate is $35 per hour, however I do provide discounts for online sessions or longer lessons that minimize my need to travel. We can discuss pricing in our first consultation!
