About Laura
# Personalized Online Tutoring for Elementary Learners
With two years of experience working as an ESOL paraprofessional in grades K–5, I have supported students from a wide range of cultural, educational, and language backgrounds—from students learning their first English words to students who are proficient English speakers.
I have worked alongside classroom teachers to provide academic support in English, reading, writing, math, science, history, social studies, and other core subjects. I also hold a degree in finance, providing me with a strong foundation in mathematics, problem-solving, organization, and analytical thinking.
My tutoring approach incorporates Agile learning methods, allowing lessons to be flexible, student-focused, and responsive to each learner's needs. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I break larger learning goals into smaller, achievable steps, regularly assess progress, identify areas that need additional support, and adjust lessons as the student grows.
My goal is to create a patient, encouraging, and low-pressure learning environment where students can build both academic skills and confidence. I meet students where they are, celebrate progress, and help them take the next step toward becoming more independent learners.
As a tutor and former ESOL paraprofessional, I provide supplemental academic support designed to complement each student's classroom learning and individual educational goals.
