Perfect! I haven't begun working with Cassie yet, but the process of finding a flute teacher is complete! I appreciated how quickly Cassie responded to my inquiry and how soon she was available to talk via phone about lessons. The phone conversation was really enjoyable and has me all kinds of excited to begin taking lessons from her! She said she was emailing me some information which I have yet to receive, but it's right before the holidays, so that's perfectly understandable. Along with my one-on-one lessons with her, she offers some group lessons and master classes too which is great! The more opportunities to learn, the better! She also mentioned I may send her videos and she'll provide feedback which is invaluable to me. Cassie was friendly, personable and easy to talk to and I suspect I'll feel comfortable playing for her almost immediately (which is rare for me). That's what I was looking for in a teacher! She was also very understanding of my financial situation and willing to work within the limitations of that which I was nervous she would understandably not want to do. I got the impression that while she's definitely a serious teacher in that she knows what techniques, exercises, etudes and studies to assign in order to help her students perform a particular piece well, she also seems like she's a fun teacher too! I'm so excited to begin studying under her!
