About Marshall
Was Lead Alto in The Count Basie Orchestra for 18 years.
Started on Classical Clarinet , then saxophone, then flute at age 10. 10 years of classical clarinet studies, 5 years of symphonic saxophone. Robust Jazz improvisational studies, harmony, scales and theory. Including piano skills.
I taught for many years at Crestwood Music School in Eastchester, NY, before leaving for extended world tours. I have played Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, Blue Note Tokyo, Bunkyo Hall Tokyo, Birdland NYC Amongst others.
Grammy nominated performer. On a Latin Grammy Winning recording with Paquito D'Rivera.
Music theory and specialist of jazz improvisation “Learn to Hear” Method.
I adapt to each student and music should be fun. Music is a healing and meditative art.
