About Kaitlyn

I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Special Education. I have been teaching for five years and have all of the necessary skills to help you stand out! I am personable, flexible, and excited to help you build your confidence as a writer!

I started teaching immediately after I graduated college. I began as a long term substitute in a middle school English class and then moved into teaching fifth grade full time. I taught fifth grade for three years before moving into teaching special education.

I have a BS in Elementary Education and an ME in special education. I have also worked at a tutoring center in Montana that worked with students from age six to eighteen. I've helped many students write essays and reports for their classes, as well as their college essays.

About the lesson

I use the first session to get to know each student as a person and to understand what their personal goals are. Once I know what the student's goals are, I talk to them about how I can help, ask them what they find most helpful, and we work together to plan how our sessions will look moving forward!

I have worked with students ages six to eighteen. Within that, I have worked with Honors students as well as high needs students. I have successfully taught each age group no matter their backgrounds.

Recently one of my old fifth graders messaged me and wanted to discuss what she is experiencing as a middle school student and asking for help with her school content. I am touched that my old students are still comfortable with coming to me for advice and want to share their lives with me.

I have a flat fee of $40 per hour. Based on how much assistance a student needs, I am happy to negotiate prices each session.
