About Jordan

The services I offer in the realm of history tutoring relates to essay research and construction. I enjoy teaching my students how they may unearth information relating to their subject of interest and aiding them in elaborating on ideas they may have trouble articulating. My education regarding history emphasises effective primary and seconday source discovery, efficiently reading said sources, and writing essays that range from four pages in length to twenty. I am expert in adapting to my students' needs, and enjoy teaching my students how they may become professional historians, or help them pass their mandatory history courses during secondary education or college. I have recently graduated college with a bachelor's degree in history, however I tutored students, both formally and informally, under many subjects - ranging from political to religious philosophy - and graduated with a GPA of 3.79.

I enjoy seeing my students learn more about their topics and move forward in their academic careers.

I began teaching by working as a volunteer for a charity organisation as a TEFL teacher, assistant teacher, and private tutor.

My professional training as a tutor resides in two areas: TEFL tutoring and tutoring my peers as we wrote essays. My TEFL teaching has taught me to adapt to my student's specific needs and to cater to the student's areas of expertise, while improving areas where he may struggle without realising, and my time as a tutor gifted me the experience in helping those who may totally lost or somewhat behind.

About the lesson

I consider it proper practice to first discern what the student wishes to have help in and to create a list of goals that the student wishes to reach and pathways that said ideas may be accomplished.

I have worked with immigrants, refugees, second language learners, and fellow history-majors whilst in university.

I recommend requesting a free trial to see where the student needs to improve and to answer his fundamental questions regarding the tutor and his methodologies.

Students should have a general idea of what they wish to accomplish by meeting with me. There needs not to be a sixty-itemed to-do list, but a general beginning and end is preferred.
