About Lexi
I desire to make each student I interact with feel valued and to instill the idea that their value does not come from their history grade, but rather it comes from what they do to change history for the better.
I enjoy being able to connecct with students of all ages and getting to see them grow as an individual, even over a short amount of time. It fills my heart to see confidence and character blossom from any of my students.
I have a Bachelors degree in History from the University of South Florida, which is a very research oriented university. I have worked for the past three years with both elementary and middle school students.

I always like to begin by learning about what my student is interested in. There is a history of everything and I think it is more fun to incorporate things we enjoy while learning in order to improve the ability to make real-life connections to past events.
I have worked with students both with and without disabilities. My expereince with disabilities includes students who have ADHD, ODD, Autism, and Down Syndrome.
It is important to understand that history teachers are unable to know everything that has ever happened in the history of the universe. We may not be experts at everything, but we are all able to help develop the research skills each student needs to understand the continuity of history and how one event relates to another. This will allow students to beome their own historians and develop their own ideas about the significance of historical occurences.
