About Amanda
My name is Amanda Attaway. I see it as a privilege, and honor, to provide a comprehensive education designed uniquely for dyslexic thinkers. My teaching philosophy is that every child can succeed given the right tools, strategies, and support from family and teachers. This is my 12th year of teaching and my third full year as a virtual instructor in reading. I received my degree at Troy University in Early Childhood education in 2010. I Taught with Dothan City schools from 2012-2017. My primary focus was on reading interventions K-8. From 2017-2020 I tutored ELL students in reading fluency. I am LETRS/Orton Gillingham trained, I recently finished two classes through Aim Pathways in pathways to structured literacy and Pathways to proficient reading and I specialized in assisting students with Dyslexia/Dyslexic tendencies. I am always learning new methods to assist with reading and I try to build confidence and motivation in my students.
