With 28 years of professional teaching experience and specialized Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) training in the Orton-Gillingham approach, I bring an elite level of expertise to students using evidence-based practices aligned with the Science of Reading. Throughout my three decades in education, I have seen firsthand that learning to read is not an intuitive process for every child. I specialize in supporting elementary students who struggle to keep up with classroom reading, fall behind in phonics, or face intense frustration with spelling, bilingual language navigation, and auditory processing. My extensive educational background allows me to demystify the English language for young learners, particularly those diagnosed with dyslexia or general learning differences, by crafting individualized, encouraging plans that rebuild academic confidence.
I utilize a truly explicit, multisensory, and systematic approach to literacy built upon my understanding of child development and language acquisition. Rather than relying on guesswork or rote memorization, I engage a student's sight, sound, and touch simultaneously to build strong, lasting neural connections.
