About Daniel
Jiu-Jitsu is the best martial art you can ever practice. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my student finishing a session better than when we started. Jiu-Jitsu is about self defense, of course, but it's also about facing obstacles in life with a different perspective and in a more efficient way.
Teaching is a vocation I was born with. I've been teaching Jiu-Jitsu for the past 7 years. So far I was Demian Maia's gym Head Coach until I moved to US to work at the UFC Gym also as a BJJ Head Coach and Manager.
Bachelors degree in Physical Education and Sports Training at Mackenzie University. Specialization in Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology. Black Belt under Demian Maia (UFC Fighter). 2 times World Champion as well as South American, São Paulo State (Brazil) and many other international official competitions. MMA fighter with a 2-1 record.

Jiu-Jitsu is like chess. If you never played before, I'll first need to show how each piece moves before actually putting you to play. I have a "First 6 classes" program in which I show every basic position in Jiu-Jitsu and the basic submissions (chockes and locks). After the 6th class there won't be anywhere you'll feel lost. You'll have at least one attack and one defense from there. Past that we'll start polishing and adding new detail and new techniques variations.
As a coach of group classes I've been teaching all types of students. Body types, genders, ages... it doesn't matter! Jiu-Jitsu is for everyone! The more you think you don't fit, trust me, the more Jiu-Jitsu will change your life!
