About Michael
I am trying to navigate through mathematics education myself and feel as though everyone should deserve a chance to improve their mathematical reasoning and reach their academic goals.
I have been attempting to complete a bachelor's degree in mathematics for a while now. Life can change but you got to keep trying!

I would obviously try to help with a particular problem or area of study that they are asking for help with, but I would also try to identify as why that particular problem is giving difficulty. My ultimate goal is to work myself out of a job. I want these students to build study habits and skills for finding answers that they become self sufficient and learn to help others.
I have worked with students of all backgrounds but I have primarily worked with what universities would call "non-traditional" students (like myself). Students who are parents or the non-traditional age range.
Look for someone who is positive and willing to help with any stage of the problem. Perhaps you come with an algebra problem and your multiplication skills are not very strong. A lot of people will help you with that algebra problem, but a great teacher will know that helping you with your multiplication will benefit you greatly as you work on other math problems.
