About Jasmeet

We’re often asked about what makes Kumon different than tutoring. Or for that matter, what makes Kumon of Myers Park such a unique space for students and families. How much time do you have? We know families appreciate our convenient location, friendly and committed staff, but that’s just part of the story. Honestly, we feel it’s not one thing but many that make Kumon of Myers Park part of so many success stories.

Kumon is about the basics

Learning confidence, stamina, and good study skills don’t happen overnight. They’re cultivated over time by learning foundations in reading and math that consistently build on one another. What’s that look like? Read what we’ve learned about why better readers make the best math students!

Kumon is about good habits

Posture, penmanship, neatness, accountability; simply put, these are life skills. Kumon is about helping develop the personal discipline it takes to make them second nature. Mastering them— along with consistent home grading and corrections — are integral to success in Kumon.

Kumon is about success over the long term

It’s much bigger than getting the answers right on today’s homework — although that’s a great short term goal! Kumon is about learning why mistakes were made, learning from them, and avoiding them in the future. It’s about building that confidence that comes from independent learning.

Kumon is about commitment — and convenience

We get it. The older and more involved the student, the more difficult it may seem to fit Kumon into the schedule. That’s the beauty of the daily work, and our three day after school schedule that’s not “one size fits all.” If you’re willing to commit to the process, we’re willing to get creative and convenient to make Kumon work for you.

It’s about accessibility

For our part, we’re committed to being readily available to you and your student. The center is open three afternoons per week, and staff or I am always reachable by phone or email to answer questions, offer direction, or encouragement.

As always, Kumon is about developing life-long learners who can problem solve beyond the classroom. We invite you and your student to write your own success story, too.

I was recently featured on WBTV Morning Break discussing the best things to do for summer learning:

I easily fill my bucket up during the week from students and parents sharing with me how students are performing better at school, that their End of Grade scores have improved, that they have improved report cards by one or two grades in not only in Math and English courses, but also in Science, Social Studies and in Language.

Students are proud to tell me that they are mentoring other students in class, they are reading books to their preschool or kindergarten classes, that they have extra reading time in class because they finish their classwork efficiently and accurately.

I enjoy hearing "I can" from students that regulary would say, "I can't." I enjoy seeing the confidence in my students faces and that my parents are less worried.

I enjoy seeing an improved learning confidence and that my students feel like they can take on the world with how much they have learned at Kumon of Myers Park.

I have had the privilege to support over 1000 students in the past 9 years as a certified Kumon Instructor. I have also been a Kumon parent for the past 13 years. I understand the parent perspective and how beneficial this program can be to developing learning confidence, work skills, and mastery of the math and reading curriculum for academic success.
I personally conduct every student assessment and parent follow up to explain the Kumon Method of learning and how the number one afterschool enrichment program can support the unique needs of each student.
I have a MBA from John Hopkins University and that has helped me operate an efficient Kumon Center with student growth and parent customer service in mind.

I set up an appointment to assess a student. I then meet with the parents to review the results.

Once the student is enrolled, we work closely with the student to develop work skills, mastery of the curriculum and a daily routine. We goal set and keep students motivated to succeed.

Our program is for ages 3 years and 8 to 9 months to high school level. We work with all types of learners.

Think two years from now. Do not only solve short term problems but think about how you can be successful in learning all types of material in the next couple of years of school. How can you improve your learning confidence? Would I be willing to do the work necessary for 20-30 minutes per day for the long run so that I can improve my overall academic performance in all of my classes?

Tuition is monthly. Each subject is $135 per month. It's a long term program, meaning you will not see the results overnight.
