About Burak

I am a recent graduate from the Ohio State University where I got my B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering. I believe every student should have the opportunity to at least attempt a higher education after high school. This is a very important time for us all to try to help each other and I believe my best course of action would be to educate those that need help. With every student at home for the forseeable future, it is very important for them to continue their education independently or with a tutor.

I had been a teaching assistant for Fundamentals of Engineering 1 & 2 during my time at OSU (ENGR1181 & 1182) for 5 semesters. I recieved great feedback on my efforts from my previous students and have comment pages ready to send to prospective parents or students if asked for. I only stopped during my last semester in college in order to focus on my own studies. I was a Dean's List student during my time at OSU and hope I can help you or your child achieve the same by starting good study, test taking, and comprehension habits early. My capstone team was also the winners of Ohio State's 2019 Civil, Environmental, Geodetic Engineering Capstone Showcase which I also have the reports and presentations ready for distribution if asked for.

With all of my accomplishments during my time at OSU, I believe I can use my own experience and knowledge to help you or your child succeed, especially in these dire times.

I got an "A" when I took Fundamentals of Engineering which is why I was accepted to start teaching the next semester. I initially started out teaching as a way to pay my rent but instantly enjoyed teaching that the pay was a secondary motivation tool sometimes.

I had to employ this tactic while I was working as a teaching assistant at Ohio State. I worked for 5 semesters and only left to focus on my own studies. Now that I am a graduate, I want to return to tutoring.

About the lesson

The most important thing in research experiments is a having a control test before you start any work. Thus, I have to first gauge where the student is at currently. After I can understand where the student is at in their academics, we would have also been speaking for a little while and breaking the ice. That is the second most important thing for a teacher working with a new student. If the student is not a big fan of their teacher, their test results will surely show it. Then, when we can start looking at the subject they most recently understood 100% and work forward from there.

I have worked with students starting their first day in college, 41 year old war veteran with disabilities, students that had to retake their classes, very shy international students, etc. I believe I am more than introduced to a diverse class at this point in my teaching career but would like to take my shot at teaching those younger than a college freshman.
