About Rishab
Hi! My name is Rishab Kamat and I am a second-year college student at the University of California, Riverside. As a child, I enrolled in Kumon and was given the opportunity to better my mathematical thinking at an early age. Kumon empowered me with not only academic skills, but other vital life skills as well, such as work ethic, organization and much more. Many aspects of Kumon have inspired me to take up tutoring myself, I believe I can help the younger general with math using the expertise I amassed from Kumon.
My early exposure to math has sparked my passion for mathematics. My aspirations as a tutor are to provide an enjoyable, yet efficient learning environment for all my students. I believe the schol system for teaching math is broken, the teachers course is based on telling their students to memorize the concepts rather than understand them. I am passionate about fixing that mistake because I believe it will have a large impact on the way students learn as the progress to higher levels of math.
I am a tutor on multiple other online tutoring sites with which i have about six months of experience working with clients. I have also spent years as a Teacher's Assistant in math classes in high school where I was tasked with helping my classmates with questions they had on the concepts.

The initial session is a "get to know each other" session. In which both the student and parents may ask questions to better understand what to expect with the following sessions. In addition, I will also ask a few questions so that we can all come to an understand of what the student needs help with, and what knowledge the student is already comfortable with.
