About Jelena
My sisters always struggled with math and I absolutely loved helping them. Any opportunity to do any type of math and any opportunity to help someone made me happy. Tutoring was a natural next step.
I got 800 on SAT math section and on the Math subject tests.
I was a math major in college and tutored during my time there.
I have been working at a school, doing a lot of homework help and genera tutoring.

If working towards improving grade/passing finals: I typically ask for the textbook/copies or pictures of exams and I review all the material. Then, I write down all key concepts and strategies the student should know and I will give the student when we meet. With the student, I’ll ask what topics they need most help on and focus on those by doing extra problems with thorough explanation and repetition. We will also go over school homework, if necessary. I will then give extra “homework” and during the next meeting go over and correct if needed.
If SAT/testing help:
We will do practice tests and go over major concepts. The key to succeeding is knowing how to make an educated guess when needed, practicing timed tests, and time management.
I have worked with students ranging from 3rd-12th grade. As well as students with ADHD and dyslexia.
