About William
We all learn and visualize differently, so even though an approach may make sense to the majority of students, it may be completely counterintuitive to others. I patiently explore all the different ways of tackling a problem until one finally clicks. The first time this happens for a student can be a huge confidence boost! They go from thinking "I'm just no good at math" to thinking "I just need to find a way that works for me".
I take a lot of pride in helping students realize that math is not something to be afraid of. I also really enjoy problem solving and working with kids to come up with new and creative solutions that work for them.
I am a huge math nerd, and although I've been out of school for a few years I continue to enjoy educating myself in the subject.
Currently, I help teach an AP Computer Science class at my local highschool.

I like to ask the student what areas they are stuggling with and then have them work through a problem or two with minimal help. This allows me to get a feel for how they problem solve, and then from there I can explore new ways of visualizing and approaching the things they find difficult.
