About Patrick

Earning a strong SAT/ACT Math score is very important to acheiving your goals of attending many colleges and universities. With COVID-19, hopefully behind us, universities will be evaluating these scores more closely. I understand the past couple years may have you behind the curve, but together we can get up to speed!

I have a M.S. in Mathematics, with B.S degress in both math and petroleum engineering. As to real world expereince I worked as a drilling engineer for Chevron for 5 years.

I love mathematics! I love the preciseness and elegance of a math problem. I have been aroud mathematics by entire life and love to transfer my knowledge to others. I firmly believe that everyone can learn mathematics! Meeting face-2-face or online are both possible, as sometimes it does help to "see" the work being done on the paper.

I love getting an ANSWER! Not some opinion or possible theory...mathematics gives an answer no matter who or where you are in the world! I love seeing a student learn to apply mathematics in the real world in order to assist others and make the world a better place.

Education: Master's degree in Mathematics, B.S. degrees in both Mathematics and Petroleum Engineering

Real World: 5 years as petroleum engineer with Chevron

College Teaching: Current Math Professor at University of Texas at Arlington. 13 years experience teaching mathematics at Marietta College and Coastal Carolina University

About the lesson

New student process:

·         Establish open communication to assess where help is needed/wanted

·         Evaluate current understanding of the basic mathematics of the requested assistance

·         Develop a plan of attack to fill in the “gaps” and move forward

I have worked students of varying degrees of mathematical apptitude, from developmental up to advanced mathematics, both middle and high school up through university level.

My advice is to review the education and teaching experience, and then hire me :)

As an engineer with Chevron, I was giving a presentation to the engineering team and had to provide a basic math lesson for better understanding! This shows everyone needs a refresher from time to time :)

Standard Pricing: $50 per hour for all basic online math tutor sessions

SAT/ACT Math Prep: $70 per hour online (does not include a prep book) and $100 per hour if I travel to your location.
