About Lily
I absolutely love doing math problems, especially algebra and calculus, and I would be so, so happy to help anyone in their journey to better understand and/or enjoy math! I am currently a rising sophomore in college studying biology, so I have had a bit of experience doing elementary, middle, and high school math- up to Calculus 2! I spent my sophomore year of high school working at Kumon, which allowed me to begin to undertand the ways in which young minds work, the nuances and differences of each mind!
I am an undergraduate biology student, meaning that I have a lot of background math classes under my belt (which I have enjoyed throroughly).

Typically, I'll ask about what we'll be practicing during a session to get an idea of how I should prepare, but that is not required! In our first session, I should be able to get a read on how you tackle problems- and this will better help me understand the way in which you work!
I have worked with students from pre-k age, all the way through their senior year of high school!
Look for someone who you are confident has the experience to teach you in the desired area, while also thinking about whether or not that person will allow you to feel comfortable in a learning environment. This is a vulnerable setting, so it is important that you are not worried about outside factors!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ask themselves how often they study the material, what kinds of emotions or feelings are felt during the studying process (and how they think that impacts their work), and of course what areas of the material need help.
