About Joshua
My name is Joshua and I am a student of Education with an emphasis in Mathematics at Western Governors University. I have been tutoring for six years and am looking to use my knowledge and experience to bring a better home-education experience to the community. I have worked with students of varying abilities, disabilities, learning styles, and ages. It's more than tutoring, it's personalized education in the comfort of your home.
Education is crucial for the development of society as a whole and as we progress into the technological age, Mathematics is becoming more essential for everyone to understand. It is a hope of mine that I can prepare the next generation for the great problems of their time; space travel, artificial intelligence, resource production management, all of these complex topics involve high levels of mathematical reasoning and will be at the forefront of the human struggle in the coming decades!
I was first brought into the world of education my sophmore year of high school when my Algebra II teacher helped me get hired by the school district to provide remedial algebra lessons to students struggling in their Algebra I classes. I've been hooked ever since!
I have been tutoring for six years and am currently enrolled in a teacher preperation program to become a licensed, California Seccondary Mathematics teacher. I also possess Associates Degrees in Mathematics, History, and Physics/Computer Science.

New students require special attention and care. Developing a successful relationship with a new student is the most important thing a tutor can do, and I pride myself on taking the time to learn what my new students are strong in, struggling with, and their preffered style of instruction so that our time together can have the greatest positive effect possible.
I have worked with children, teens, and adults ranging in ability from exceptionally gifted students to students struggling with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or behavioral issues.
Math is notoriously tedious and finding success with an educator requires finding someone your student can vibe with and find ways to have fun while they learn.

Josh is an amazing tutor, he is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to see how my 10 year old daughter learns in order to tailor the tutoring sessions to better suit her needs. He treats my daughter with respect and encourages her, all while making math as enjoyable as possible! He is kind and patient and has helped my daughter improve immensely. Josh also takes the time to explain ways I can better help my daughter with math and different methods to try if she has difficulty understanding things a certain way. I cannot say enough about how wonderful working with Josh has been and I look forward to working with him more in the future!

Details
My pricing structure is usually $30-40 per hour depending on number of hours per week I am being requested by the individual. However, I do make exceptions for families encountering financial hardships; tutoring should be accessible and I live to make it happen!
