About Stephanie

I left a great paying corporate job to pursue my "calling" to teach. Just like that! After 15 years of working as an event planner for University of Miami Law School, I told my director of my ambitions and she (a prominent lawyer) told me to go for it! And I did! And I have NO REGRETS! Never looked back! Teaching has been one of the greatest adventure!



I am a certified math teacher for 17 years, with a Masters degree in math education. I train other teachers how to work with students that struggle with math.

The first thing I want to know is the STUDENT. What are his likes and dislikes.  Then I would want to know a little of his math history. What is you really good at, what topics are you "so so" on, and then what is his/her struggle. I would give them a diagnostics using a program and then take learning from there. 



I have worked primarily with Struggling students. I am very passionate about changing their mindset about their possibilities. 



Look for someone with experience and someone that LOVES what they do. Look for someone that is not just interested in what they know but more interested in the learning process.



It happens almost daily in my classroom.... a student GETS IT and asks for more work. Or a student thanks me after class. I am particularly fond of receiving their test scores back and seeing the shock on their face when they receive a 4 or a 5!!!!!
