About Avy
I'm a recent high school graduate living in portland who tutored peers throughout high school in math, science, english, and philosophy. I understand the challenges of being a student in today's world and I find joy in helping others with their academic goals. I was a straight A's student throughout highschool, having taken a number of advanced math classes including AP calculus, AP statistics, pre-calculus honors, and algebra 2 advanced honors. I will get to know a student by asking about how they learn best and what subjects they may be struggling with. The student will lead in advocating for what they need help with. I will look over current and past assignments with the student to grasp where they are and will make sure they have at least a basic understanding of previous lessons before moving on. Each student is unique, so I adapt my tutoring style to the individual's needs.
