About Dave
I help student learn how to think for themselves, in addition to teaching material. Lessons are prepared in advance, according to the needs of the student. I have taught at both the univerity level and from ages 5 and up. I have worked with students with various challenges from ADD/ADHD, autism, dyslexia and more.
I enjoy seeing students make progress, and begin to believe in themselves, as they improve. I love to watch the transition to, them enjoying the work and wanting to learn on their own, as well as in session.
My education is in Mechanical Engineering, and I have been trained in using various formats to help students with reading, writing and visulaisation, when reading or writing. I have tutored extensively in Math, ELA, and reading/comprehension.

In the first session I evaluate the student after speaking with the parents. Next, I create a lesson plan with both short term and long term goals based on what is needed. We then begin working together, with a mixture of lessons and homeworks to cement what was done in session. This is done in conjuction with the school work, so as to keep the track of where the student should be, and what their performance is like in the classroom.
