About Pamela
Mathematics leverages lives, careers, and futures. I have an infectious passion for mathematics, and am dedicated to helping students gain a compelling future.
I'm a higly qualified teacher, with a masters in education, including an authorization in mathematics in both California and Oregon. I've been teaching in the public, private, and charter school systems for 22 years.
By using the socratic method of questioning, my students have an ownership and a feeling of personal accomplishment, as they discover the right conclusion themselves. Albert Einstein said, "every mathematical concept should be able to be demonstarted in the real world." This is what I strive to do with a constructivist approach, using manipulatives and whiteboards.
By accessing and succeding in math, doors will be thrown wide open for career options you might not have thought possible.
My policy is students first! I can tailor each lesson to my students individual interests, learning style, and ability levels. I take pride in my students knowing that I am invested in their success. My favorite part of this job is seeing the look on my students faces when they realize they've mastered a difficult concept!
